First Things First

Let’s start with first things first. The URL of this blog is originally known as susanhoneywilliams.com. The new URL is laughingcabin.com. Both URLs will bring you to this site. However, I recommend updating your bookmarks to the new Laughing Cabin URL. The original URL will be phased out by the end of the year.

Why The Name Change?

Since 2009, I have maintained an internet presence under my brand name Laughing Cabin. This includes a craft business, a blog, a memoir, a Shopify store, and an Etsy shop. Laughing Cabin is also the name of my cabin home. It is the place where God has been unfolding my story and bringing out the creativity He has placed within me, including writing my book, It’s Your Time for a Comeback: A Call to Women Over Fifty to Return, Rebuild and Rise.

When I closed my craft business in 2024 due to failing eyesight, I stopped using the Laughing Cabin name. Without realizing it, I abandoned a part of my creative self when I did. And I lost contact with so many precious people who supported me along the way. Literally thousands!

Creative Rebirth

So, I’m dusting off the cobwebs and bringing new life to the Laughing Cabin. After all, she’s one of my dearest friends. Now that I’m in my 60s and have visual limitations, I can no longer spend time in the workshop creating crafts as I once did. That chapter of my journey may have ended, but God has been inspiring me in exciting ways. All of it includes you!

Fresh Inspiration

You’re probably wondering about the direction the Laughing Cabin is taking. I won’t keep you in suspense! To begin, I have launched a snail mail club for women over fifty called Letters from the Laughing Cabin. Doors are now open!

I have also been hard at work designing stationery — letterheads, note pads, note cards, stickers, etc. Why? I’ve opened a new online stationery store! I am gradually adding new products to the store, and it will eventually include gift items, too. You can find it at LaughingCabin.store.

Blogging Right Along

The content of this blog will continue to be wholesome, Christ-honoring, and uplifting but with expanded topics. Plus, I’ll be posting more frequently with new adventures as the Laughing Cabin gets underway.
