Greeting Cards with a Cause: Myanmar’s Orphans

I have had the privilege of meeting and befriending Hannah and Richard Cook, founders of A Passion for Myanmar. Their ministry began in 2016 as an outreach to orphans in Myanmar’s poorest regions.

The heart of their mission centers around these verses:

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me. ~ Matthew 25:40

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. ~ Luke 19:10

The Vision for Myanmar

The Cooks describe the living conditions for the orphans in Myanmar as being very poor. Their needs include food, clean water, clothing, educational supplies, and other basic necessities. Many of these things — especially access to clean water — we take for granted in the western world.

Their larger vision is to build a new home for the orphans through the support of individuals, businesses, organizations, and churches.

About the Cooks

Currently, the Cooks are operating as a two-person husband-and-wife team. They not only travel regularly to Myanmar to visit and minister to the orphans, but also devote their time and resources to raising awareness and funds that directly benefit the children.

I met Hannah and Richard only a few months ago. They immediately took me into their hearts, and we became very good friends. Their friendship and prayers on my behalf have produced such an impact on my life in such a short time. They are two of the most authentic faith-filled people I have ever known. They serve God and others with such love, dedication, and humility. Their love for the orphans in Myanmar is a true passion.

A Nudge from God

One of my recent prayers has been to use my creative talents — along with my voice — to better serve God. So, I asked Him to inspire me in some way. This was the same week that He nudged me to ask the Cooks more about their ministry. I visited the website A Passion for Myanmar and was immediately captivated.My love and gratitude for Hannah and Richard gave me a strong desire to support their mission. I believe this is how and why I felt that nudge from God.

As a result, I have created three different Christmas greeting card designs. They are available for a suggested donation of $10.00 USD. All proceeds from the sale of the greeting cards directly benefit A Passion for Myanmar — a 501(3)c non-profit organization registered in Georgia, USA. And yes, the children will directly benefit.

It is my hope and prayer that the Cooks will realize their dream of building a home for the orphaned children of Myanmar. Won’t you join me in helping their dream come true? I’d like to think we can build it together — one greeting card at a time!

When you purchase a set of greeting cards from the selections below, you are making a donation that directly benefits the children of Myanmar. All proceeds will be donated to A Passion for Myanmar (501(3)c non-profit) on or before December 31, 2026. The greeting cards are designed, printed, packaged, and shipped from the Laughing Cabin workshop. Shipping is included. Orders will ship within 3-5 business days and will be mailed by USPS First Class Mail to U.S. addresses only.
